The New Glarus Vision Youth Committee would like to help make every family’s Holiday a joyous one. We know that sometimes families are faced with some hard times during the year but we believe that a child’s Holiday should be special.  To that end, our group in cooperation with AnchorBank fsb, New Glarus High School’s National Honor Society, Small World Childcare and The Bank of New Glarus will create anonymous gift tags with the wishes of participating families. The gift tags will be hung on Giving Trees at the above named locations. After the wishes have been filled, the gifts will be collected, gift wrapped and packaged for pick up by parents on Dec. 18, 2009 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at The Bank of New Glarus, 501 1st Street, New Glarus.

If you are a family who could use help in purchasing gifts for your children or you know of a family that could use a helping hand this season, please complete this downloadable PDF form (include all children of all ages) and mail it so that we receive it by Nov. 20th at the latest, to Youth Committee, PO Box 552, New Glarus, WI 53574 or you may drop the form off at Small World Childcare or The Bank of New Glarus.  Use the back of the form for additional space, if needed.

If your family is experiencing abundance this season and you would like to share it, please send your donation to Youth Committee, PO Box 552, New Glarus, WI 53574 OR stop in at AnchorBank, New Glarus, The Bank of New Glarus, Small World Childcare or the New Glarus High School, take a tag off the giving tree, go shopping and feel the joy in your heart when you bring that wrapped gift back to the tree OR simply buy a gift for a child, any age and bring it to any of the participating locations.

The Youth Committee was formed by a group of New Glarus area citizens over 10 years ago with the intention of promoting  and facilitating the youth of the area. We are a non-profit organization. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 6:30 PM at Flannery's restaurant in New Glarus. All meetings are open to the public and we always welcome new members to join. We vote and pass resolutions as a quorum.

Our only Fundraising activity is the annual New Glarus COMMUNITY FEST held each Memorial Holiday weekend starting Friday night and extending into Monday mid-day with lots of recreational and play activities as well as a lively beer tent with bands lined up from early afternoon into the night. With the monies brought in from this festival (which is in it's 16th year) we are then able to reach out to help our young people with grants and deeds throughout the year. We are the sole sponsors of the long tradition of LUNCH WITH SANTA held each December for the delight of hundreds of smaller children.
